Police have launched a murder investigation after a woman was stabbed to death in Greenwich.

Emergency providers had been referred to as at 2.18am on Sunday (April 4) to a critically injured woman inside a block of flats in Ravine Grove, Plumstead.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, the woman died round an hour later.

A person, 39, was arrested on the scene beneath suspicion of murder. He is at present in custody at a South London police station.
