Man raped woman in Haringey as he awaited trial for GBH

A person who glassed a woman who rejected him exterior a bar in south London, then raped one other as he awaited trial, has been convicted.

Yonattan Aroldy Gonzalez Pineda, 33, of no mounted abode, was discovered responsible of the false imprisonment, grievous bodily hurt and rape of a woman in Haringey as he awaited trial for the preliminary assault. 

The court docket heard that Pineda harassed a woman identified to him at a bar in Southwark, on November 30, 2019.

Pineda tried to interact in dialog with the woman, regardless of her repeatedly stating for him to depart her alone.

He then assaulted the woman, hitting her with a glass bottle, leaving her with lacerations to the face.

On June 23, 2020, while awaiting trial, Pineda assaulted, imprisoned and raped a woman who was visiting his home in West Green Road, Haringey.

The woman reported the incident to police the subsequent day and officers launched a search for his whereabouts.

He was arrested on July 4 on suspicion of rape, false imprisonment and GBH and remained in custody till he was charged two days later. 

Pineda pleaded not responsible to all counts for each incidents, however was discovered responsible following a two week trial at Wood Green Crown Court on March 15.

He will likely be sentenced on May 28.

“He has subjected two girls who he shaped a relationship with to important violence and has proven no regret for his actions.

“The verdict is welcomed as it sends a transparent message that such acts is not going to be tolerated.

“I wish to thank each victims for coming ahead and supporting the police investigation.

“I hope this conviction goes some method to offering closure for the victims after what will need to have been a horrific expertise.”
