Addresses in north and east London have been raided by police as a part of a year-long multi-force medication operation.

Officers from six police forces across the nation executed 29 warrants on the morning of Wednesday, March 24 to arrest people suspected of being concerned in the sale and distribution of Class A and B medication.

Around £150,000 cash, 20 kilograms of heroin, crack and hashish and a suspected firearm have been seized in complete.

Ten of the warrants have been executed in Hackney, two in Redbridge, one in Barking, one in Romford and one in Islington.

Sixteen individuals, aged between 25 and 43, have been arrested and taken into custody.
