The deal has enabled Peabody housing affiliation to accumulate the 45-acre site with plans to create a new neighbourhood.
Peabody is working with Barking and Dagenham Council, BeFirst and City Hall alongside PRP because the site’s masterplanner.
An in depth four-year floor remediation mission to arrange the land for housing has seen present house owners Europa Capital extract greater than 322,000 tonnes of fabric from the site.
Construction on the site will begin by March 2023, with the purpose of finishing by March 2028.
The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan stated: “Dagenham Docks is likely one of the most fun areas of regeneration in London, with this former powerhouse of East End business set to be comprehensively reworked over the following decade.
“I’m happy to be persevering with City Hall’s partnership with Peabody to construct the genuinely reasonably priced houses Londoners deserve. I’m assured that their experience, alongside the imaginative and prescient and drive of Barking and Dagenham council will ship a thriving new neighbourhood for east London, while paying tribute to the realm’s distinctive heritage.”
