Various police have been injured after breaking apart an illegal house party in south London, with one officer knocked unconscious when drinks and different objects had been thrown at them.

Four individuals had been arrested, with one other 30 individuals handed fines totalling £800 on the party in Walworth, south London, on Sunday morning.

The partygoers have been branded “egocentric and irresponsible” by police.

Chief Inspector Richard Blears, from the Central South Command Unit, which covers Southwark, stated: “Restrictions are nonetheless in place to shield lives; each one that attended this illegal gathering has acted selfishly and irresponsibly and has probably put others in danger.
