London Fire Brigade called to fire in Leyton

A girl and a child have been rescued from a fire in the early hours of the morning.

Firefighters have been called to a maisonette fire on Morley Road, Leyton, shortly earlier than 3.30am on Friday, February 26.

Six fire engines and round 40 firefighters from Leyton, Leytonstone, Walthamstow, Stratford and Homerton fire stations rushed to the scene.

Most of a four-roomed maisonette on the bottom ground of the constructing was broken by fire.

One lady and a child have been taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.

Station Commander Leon Back, who was on the scene, mentioned: “Crews in a short time gained entry to the property and rescued a girl who was inside a maisonette on the bottom ground.

“Crews labored extraordinarily exhausting and professionally in very difficult situations. The lady was taken to hospital together with a child who was in the flat above.”

London Fire Brigade reported the fire underneath management by 4.05am.

The reason for the fire is underneath investigation.
