Man arrested following series of knifepoint robberies on local shops

A person has been arrested following a series of knifepoint robberies on local shops throughout west and south west London.

A forty five-year-old has been arrested in reference to a series of robberies throughout London. The police are treating the seven store robberies as being associated.

The robberies befell between Friday, October 16 2020 and Wednesday, February 17 2021, at a quantity of supermarkets in Hounslow, Ealing, and Richmond.

The suspect is alleged to have waited for the store to be opened by employees members, earlier than threatening them with a knife.

He is then alleged to have stolen money from the tills. On some events the suspect can also be thought to have stolen cigarettes, alcohol, and scratch playing cards, which had been positioned right into a black holdall and a bin bag or Sainsbury’s bag.

Over the course of the theft spree it’s thought that £25,000 price of money and items had been stolen.

The suspect was arrested on Thursday morning (February 25) within the vacinity of Northfield Avenue, Ealing. The arrest was made throughout an operation by the Met’s Flying Squad.

He is now in custody at a south London police station.
