ONE IN FIVE ADULTS UNDER 70 IN ENGLAND GIVEN FIRST COVID JAB, FIGURES SHOW

One in 5 adults in England aged beneath 70 have had their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, new information suggests.

Provisional figures from NHS England, printed on (*5*), present that 16,337,561 Covid-19 vaccinations happened in England between (*4*) 8 and February 24, together with first and second doses.

This is an increase of 411,146 on the day gone by’s figures.

Of this quantity, 15,794,992 have been the primary dose of a vaccine, an increase of 396,937 on the day gone by, whereas 542,569 have been a second dose, a rise of 14,209.

An estimated 20.3% of individuals aged 16 to 69 had obtained their first jab as of February 21. The estimates present little variation between the areas, ranging from 17.2% in London to 22.3% in north-west England.
