West London thug who spat at police officer and claimed he had Covid is jailed

A West London thug who spat at a police officer and advised them he had Covid has been jailed.

Thomas McCarthy, 31, of Allenby Street, Southall carried out the disgusting act on Friday, February 5.

Law enforcement officials arrested McCarthy after being known as to his residence to experiences of legal harm.

He was taken to a West London hospital as he complained of a leg damage, and after being handled by medics, he was discharged and escorted by officers to their police van.

When within the caged space of the van, McCarthy spat at one of many officers and acknowledged while laughing that he had Covid-19.

McCarthy was arrested and charged with assault on an emergency employee and legal harm and remanded in custody to seem at Westminster Magistrates’ Courtroom on Monday, February 8.

He pleaded responsible to each offences on the listening to and was jailed for 10 weeks.

Chief Inspector Paul O’Herlihy, who led the investigation, mentioned: “This was a deliberate assault on a police officer, while he was finishing up his duties.

“This sentence sends out a transparent message, to those that abuse or assault emergency service employees.”
