A
specialist police monetary investigator who served the Met for practically three a long time has died after being recognized with Covid-19.
Detective Sergeant Darren Barker, 51, was admitted to hospital in late January and handed away on Friday surrounded by his household.
He began with the Metropolitan Police in March 1992 and was described by a colleague as an “extraordinarily gifted detective”.
The officer was classed as susceptible and had been shielding.
DS Barker labored from house through the pandemic on a variety of investigations, Scotland Yard stated.

DS Barker is survived by mother and father Eric and Sheila, spouse Caroline, two grownup kids Christian and Lauren. His brother Eric Barker is a serving constable in north London.
