Witness appeal after 18 year old left with ‘life threatening’ injuries at South London railway station

The British Transport Police have appealed for witnesses after a stabbing incident at Abbey Wood station at the weekend.

Police were called to Abbey Wood at 10:20 pm on the 14th February 2021 after reports that an 18-year-old was found on a bench at the station with serious injuries.

Paramedics attended and the man was taken to hospital with what is believed to be life-threatening injuries.

The station was closed for a short time to allow officers to complete enquiries, but no arrests have currently been made.

Detective Superintendent Sam Blackburn said: “We are at an early stage in our investigation and we are keeping an open mind as to exactly where this violent incident began.”

“I’d like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious along Abbey Road and Wilton Road between 9.45pm and 10.20pm to get in touch with us as soon as possible to assist the investigation.”

“This was a shocking act of violence and I’d like to reassure the public we’re doing all we can to find those responsible.
