Even in a pandemic, millions of people visited London’s train stations in 2020.
According to data provided by the Office of Rail and Road, eight of the 10 most popular stations in the UK are in London – with 94 million people passing through Waterloo in 2019-20.
By stark contrast, a mere 28,000 a year pass through London’s quietest station – South Greenford in Ealing.
South Greenford is about eight miles from Paddington and is located on the A40.
The unmanned station runs trains every day, except Sunday, until 10pm.
Two trains every hour go to West Ealing, where travellers can hop on connecting trains to Heathrow Airport.

In 2015-16 the station was the third-least used station in London, but since 2017 it has been the least-used.
Aside from South Greenford, London’s second- and third-least used stations are Angel Road (35,000 visitors a year) and Sudbury and Harrow Road (42,000 visitors).
Angel Road’s relatively low footfall can be explained by the fact it was closed permanently in May 2019, although it still managed to beat out South Greenford.
