Stabbings, illegal rave and weapons seized in weekend of crime in London

It was another weekend of crime across the capital, with reports of another south London stabbing, more illegal raves and multiple unexplained deaths.

Sadly, despite lockdown, it remains a busy time for the capital’s police force who had to deal with multiple stabbings, as well as the now common calls to serious breaches of lockdown rules.

In one such breach, revellers gathered on a canal boat to party.

There was also a major operation to take weapons off the streets in Croydon after a spate of stabbings there at the start of February.

The team arrested 28 people, predominantly for drugs and violence related offences in the operation’s first week.

215 people were stopped and searched and 174 weapons sweeps took place, leading to police seizing nine terrifying-looking weapons.
