SIMON Cowell is building a huge swimming pool at his £15million mansion in London as he starts renovation works.
The music mogul, 61, won planning permission last March to add mod cons to the seven-bedroom property.

This includes a 15-metre outdoor pool, with its own pool house, and state-of-the art security at his plush pad close by to Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly.
The local council also gave permission for the BGT judge to extend the existing sunroom and add a “glazed conservation lantern” roof so that it “will allow the owner to enjoy sunshine throughout the year in a private position.”
Simon, 61, is also building a timber pergola to “create a visual interest and to assist with growing plants to enhance the character of this external space.”
For the internal works, he wants “comfort cooling and UFH’ throughout the house, as well as an upgrade on the lighting and security cameras.

According to the plans, this is for the “re-servicing of the house to respond to the modern requirements of the family.”
He shares his home with his partner Lauren Silverman and their six-year-old son Eric.
He’s also upgrading the doors and windows in some rooms so that it “creates consistency in appearance and a common architectural language throughout that is more sympathetic to the existing house”, which has been modified over the years.
Security conscious Cowell also wants three new vehicle gates, which include “new retractable bollards repositioned to the centre of the gates.”
Cowell bought the property in October 2018 – which was built in the 18th century by the British architects George Hubbard and Albert Moore – with The Sun revealing that it was haunted by the gay lover of a Roman Emperor.

Previous owner Christian Levett believes he accidentally brought in the soul of Antinous, lover of Hadrian, in a statue in 2014.
He said: “It was delivered in a crate. “When I was locking up, I heard the sound of heavy objects being knocked over from the drawing room where Antinous was still lying in his box.
“The same happened the next two nights. But there was nobody there.”
Antinous was known as the most beautiful boy in the Roman Empire and became Hadrian’s lover in 128BC. He drowned or killed himself.
Cowell has previously revealed that doors banged at his old home in South West London, which freaked out his mum, dad and dog.
Simon said: “The land where my house was on was part of a bigger house. It got so bad they called in an exorcist.”

He also says he saw a ghost during The X Factor in 2015.
Simon was with One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson watching Anton Stephans perform at Judges’ Houses when. He yelled “sorry, I think I just saw a ghost”.
The dad-of-one claimed he’d seen a pale character with frizzy white hair in the window of his home.
