Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount is clearly enjoying his football at the moment.
A surprise omission from the starting XI in Thomas Tuchel’s first game after replacing Frank Lampard as Blues head coach, a goalless draw at home to Wolves, the England international has responded in the best possible way.
Having made an impact from the bench against Wolves, Mount was handed a start in the next game which was a 2-0 win over Burnley at Stamford Bridge.
Arguably his best game under Tuchel thus far came in Chelsea ‘s 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur as the 22-year-old impressed in a ‘false 9’ role and was, perhaps, unlucky not to get on the scoresheet.
Mount did find the net as the Blues beat Sheffield United last weekend at Bramall Lane and was rested completely in midweek as his teammates got the job done against Barnsley to reach the FA Cup quarter-final.
With the midfielder playing no part at Oakwell, it seems certain that he will return to the squad for Monday night’s Premier League clash with Newcastle United.
Ahead of the game in west London, Mount alongside the likes of Jorginho, Cesar Azpilicueta, Tammy Abraham, Timo Werner, and Christian Pulisic were put through their paces at the club’s Cobham training base on Friday.
And there was a moment that sums up Mount’s mood.
As spotted in a ‘Chelsea Unseen’ training session video uploaded to the club’s YouTube page, the midfielder can be seen dancing after believing to have nutmegged Reece James.

At around the 5.01-minute mark, Mount makes a pass that seems to go through James’ legs.
Well, that is what Mount felt as he celebrated with some slick dance moves.
But James didn’t share Mount’s opinion as he was adamant that the ball went under his foot, thus saving his blushes.
