A Brixton-based poet has released a collection of poems about spirituality and philosophy.
The British-Nigerian poet Ricky G’s book is called The Leaves That Die and contains 27 poems.
The poems cover a wide range of themes, including freedom, identity and mindfulness and have a positive message of hope and healing.
The 47-year-old said: “The title is a reference to the fact that although the leaves may fall from the tree and die, the tree continues living so death is not the end.
“I started writing poetry because I like creating beautiful things and playing with words, creating something out of nothing and taking a blank page and turning it into a poem.”
