Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka makes top young players list behind Manchester United star

Arsenal starlet Bukayo Saka has been rated as one of the best young players in the world.

L’Equipe have released their top 50 young players list, based on players born on 2001 or after, and Saka has made the top 10 after his excellent performances this season and last.

Saka has already racked up 27 appearances across all competitions for Arsenal this season, scoring five and assisting four after making his breakthrough last season with four goals and 11 assists across all competitions.

The 19-year-old is the most exciting young talent Arsenal have currently, and according to the L’equipe list, he is one of the most exciting talents in the world.

Baka has been rated ninth on the top young player list, behind Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood, Anderlecht’s Yari Verschaeren and Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham.

The top five is made up of Dortmund’s Giovanni Reyna at number five, then Barcelona’s Pedri, Ajax’s Ryan Gravenberch and Rennes’ Eduardo Camavinga.

Barcelona starlet Ansu Fati has been rated as the most exciting young talent, scoring five and assisting four in 10 senior games so far this season, still only 18 years of age. Fati was also atop the list last season.

No other Arsenal youngsters made the top 50, but that will be because Emile Smith Rowe was not eligible, born before the year 2001. while another exciting prospect in Gabriel Martinelli hasn’t had the chance to impress due to injury.

Saka recently won Arsenal’s player of the month award for the second straight month, as voted for by supporters having managed two goals and assist during the month of January.

The versatile youngster is under contract at Arsenal until 2024 after penning a contract extension last year following his breakthrough to the first-team last season.
