Gun ammunition and drugs found during police raid on West London food shop

Drugs and gun ammunition were recovered during a raid on a West London shop, Scotland Yard has revealed.

Officers executed a “misuse of drugs” warrant at Olympic Food Centre in 21 Moscow Road, Bayswater, on January 13.

The shop’s premises licence was due to be reviewed on February 10 by Westminster Council, following an application by the Met to the council.

Following the raid, two people were arrested and released under investigation but have not yet to be charged.

A statement from the police said: “A quantity of drugs, cash and firearms ammunition was recovered…

“An investigation continues, led by the Central West Command Unit CID.”

A report presented to the council’s licensing committee today was heavily redacted.

The council said this was to protect the ongoing criminal investigation.

The council is due to make a decision in the coming days on whether to revoke the shop’s licence.
